QB Steven Montez

Junior / 6’5” / 225 LBS

Coming off an Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 selection as a sophomore & winner of the John Mack Award (Outstanding Offensive Player – Team Award), Montez is rumored to be on the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award (College Player of the Year). The Junior QB should have no problem topping 3,000 passing yards this season and possibly breaking more school records. Montez became the first QB in school history to throw for 300 yards in three consecutive games last season.

2017 Stats: 12 Games

HB Travon McMillian

Senior / 6’0” / 210 LBS

McMillian is a graduate transfer from Virginia Tech, where he appeared in 39 games and started 22 of them from 2015-2017 for the Hokies. He received third-team All-ACC honors from the media and honorable mention All-ACC from the coaches in 2015. The speedster will have an immediate impact in the run game after seeing starting RB Phillip Lindsay graduate. Preseason rumors have McMillian going anywhere from the fourth to the sixth round in the 2019 NFL Draft.

2017 Stats: 12 Games

104 Rushes / 439 Yards / 36.6 Yards Per Game

2 Touchdowns / 4.2 Yards Per Carry

12 Receptions / 173 Yards / 3 Touchdowns

WR Jay MacIntyre

Senior / 5’10” / 185 LBS

Playing undersized, Jay MacIntyre is already behind the eight ball, but that hasn’t deterred him from continuing to prosper as a wide receiver. Fourth on the team in receiving last season as a Junior, MacIntyre should see a bump in targets and might get some reps at kick and punt return duties. It will be tough for the Senior to get drafted next April, but then again, Julian Edelman was selected in the seventh round back in 2009 (player most comparable to Jay MacIntyre).

2017 Stats: 10 Games

28 Receptions / 396 Yards / 2 Touchdowns / 14.1 Yards Per Catch

LB Rick Gamboa

Senior / 6’0” / 240 LBS

Winner of the Dave Jones Award (Outstanding Defensive Player – Team Award), Gamboa enters his Senior season with 37 consecutive starts for CU and was presented with the Eddie Crowder Award for Outstanding Leadership from CU coaching staff at the finale of spring ball. The Senior drew honorable mention All-Pac-12 from league coaches last season and was selected to Phil Steele’s College Football All-Pac-12 Second Team. Gamboa has huge upside and will be on a lot of NFL team’s radars this upcoming April.

2017 Stats: 12 Games

54 Solo Tackles / 36 Assisted Tackles / 90 Tackles

2 Tackles For Loss / 1 Sack / 5 Passes Defended

S Evan Worthington

Senior / 6’2” / 200 LBS

Also receiving honorable mention All-Pac-12 from league coaches, Worthington is a hard-hitting safety who was second on the team in tackles in 2017 and was a pest for both wide receivers and their quarterback.

The 6’2” Senior has the speed and height to make any type of play anywhere on the field. Worthington, like Gamboa, will be on pro teams radars this upcoming April as the defensive back was named to Athlon Sports and Philip Steele’s College Football All-Pac-12 Third Team.

2017 Stats: 12 games

58 Solo Tackles / 29 Assisted Tackles / 87 Tackles

6 Tackles For Loss / 1 Sack / 3 Interceptions
