Von Miller Eradicates As Denver Prevails Over Seattle

This weekend marked the first Sunday slate of games of the year for the NFL. The Broncos took on the NFC West contending Seattle Seahawks. Denver responded to a late deficit to steal a win away from Seattle 27-24.

Miller Showed Out

Von Miller put on a clinic for his first game of the season. He recorded seven total tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles. It’s the third time in his career that he documented a night with two or more sacks and forced fumbles in the same game. The only player in NFL history to do so more is Miami’s Cameron Wake.

Believe it or not, all of these were from the same game. Miller showed up for the home crowd, destroying Seattle drives and leading the Broncos to a season opening W.

Hometown Hero Phillip Lindsay

It was a fairytale day for Colorado native Phillip Lindsay, leading his team in rushing in front of his hometown crowd. Not bad for an undrafted free-agent! Lindsay posted 15 carries for 71 yards, averaging 4.7 YPC with a TD. He sparked the offense, opening the scoring with a 29 yard reception from Case Keenum.

The Deciding Factor

The Seahawks battled hard , as there were multiple lead changes. The differing factor in the game was Seattle’s failed third-down conversions, they went 0-6 on Sunday. The Broncos defense man handled the Seattle offensive line, frequently finding holes and getting Seattle off the field. In the end, it was a close match and these plays helped edge the Broncos past Seattle.
