As we look ahead to Wrestlemania 34, we begin the road to Fastlane. Smackdown Live helped set the main event for Fastlane and delivered a U.S. title match. Without further ado, here is this week’s SmackDown Summary.

Shane McMahon promo – Shane calls out Daniel Bryan and says he lives vicariously through Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. AJ Styles comes out to tell them to stay out of his way.

Analysis: Interesting to see how it goes with Daniel and Shane. Shane’s promo was really good.

Charlotte Flair def. Liv Morgan

Analysis: Ok match. Liv Morgan shined a little and could possibly be a woman’s champion one day.

The Bludgeon Brothers def. Local Competitors

Analysis: It’s getting a little old with the brothers beating down jobbers. The Usos came down to tease a match with them which is exciting.

The Usos cut a promo in the ring.

Analysis: Similar to how they were last week. We’ll see where this goes I guess.

Daniel Bryan announces the first ever Top 10 List for SmackDown Live.

Analysis: Seemed cool at first. However, I don’t understand the point of it though. It would make sense if the #1 spot gets a shot at a title.

Bobby Roode def. Rusev to retain the U.S. Championship.

Analysis: This was the match of the night. Both men performed great. I didn’t expect Randy Orton to show up and RKO them. I guess that’s how WWE is using him now.

Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable def. The Ascension

Analysis: The match was okay. This storyline looks promising with Gable and Benjamin.

Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn ended in a double DQ.

Analysis: The match itself was good. It’s been a while since they wrestled so it’s refreshing to see. The outcome was sort of predictable. Thankfully this storyline will end after Fastlane to get Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles at Wrestlemania.

Overall: The show was decent. Nothing very compelling or exciting occurred but there were times that kept me engaged. We’ll see what other matches SmackDown makes for Fastlane.
